Founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile in Le Locle, Switzerland. They began by assembling pocket watches in their home-based workshop.
Early innovation: In 1853, Tissot released the first mass-produced pocket watch featuring dual time zones. By 1858, Charles-Émile expanded sales into Russia.
Built on innovation: Tissot delivered the world’s first anti-magnetic wristwatch in 1930. Later, the brand introduced groundbreaking materials in timepieces — from plastic (Astrolon, 1971), to rock (RockWatch, 1985), mother-of-pearl (Pearl, 1987), and wood (Wood, 1988).
